(100) Syphons
Syphons are used in the heating & ventilation industry as a low cost solution to protect pressure gauges from the effects of hot process media such as steam.
Generally speaking "U" Syphons (or Swan Kneck Syphons) are used for pressure tappings on the side of the pipe or vessel and "Ring" Syphons (or Pig Tail Syphons) where the tapping is located at the top.
When first installed, the syphon should be filled with water or any other suitable separating fluid.
