This 100mm diameter capsule dial gauge is used on applications where "absolute pressure" needs to be measured.
The gauge measures the total absolute pressure of gas in a vacuum system and since the composition of the gas does not affect the measurement, this design is ideal for applications where you need to measure the pressure of gases other than air.
The gauge is barometrically compensated so that pressure measurement is unaffected by changes in ambient atmospheric pressure. This make the gauge ideal for low pressure measurements. Internally the gauge has a sealed evacuated capsule with a mechanical link that drives the pointer.
This gauge can not be used on liquid.
