Legionnaires thermometer kit for temperature monitoring of water.
Incorrect water temperature is a key risk factor for legionella growth. Legionella bacteria multiply in water at temperatures between 20C & 45C, particularly if a supply of nutrients are present such as scale, rust, sludge or algae.
A typical method of control is to store cold water below 20C and hot water always above 60C. It is recommended that hot water should be distributed above 50C.
The standard kit is supplied with the following 3 probes.
Probe 1: 130mm Rigid Immersion Probe for water etc,
Probe 2: 130mm Surface Temperature Probe,
Probe 3: PTFE Wire Probe for the measurement of air temperature in fridges, freezers and ovens etc.
